Question:
I've heard that a non-optimal liver function or disorder of any kind can
lead to insomnia. Can somebody explain me why this is and what can be
done to improve liver function?
Answer:
Could you care enough to go thru my previous posting (21st july)
replying to John Cooley. In it, I mentioned about, the functioning
of liver, interlinking with the function of the brain. Go thru it and
if, you need my assistance, thru this forum, I could teach you how to
correct your problem, FOC.
I've read a reply from you connecting nerve system problems with liver
problems. I'd like to see more detail though on the actual process that
causes sleep problems.
why I said that, the tackling of a sickness, between medical
science (MS) and oriental healing are vast difference. You see,
when consulted on insomnia, medical doctor normally prescribe drugs eg.
sleeping pills, to temporary relieve your problem with the brain,
without really understood, why and what is the actual cause to it.
As for oriental healing, we adopt two prone approaches 1) to 'arrest'
the root to its problem, is by, correcting the functioning of liver.
This correcting of liver, could be done in two ways, by either,
consumming herbal remedy or thru accupressuring (on that particular
liver area). Of course, to expedite the healing process, you could do
the two mentioned methods simultaneously. 2)Thru accupressuring on the
head area and stimulating the 5 meridien flows, you could correct back
the proper functioning of the brain.
Most of us should know by now, that, there are few causes to an
insomnia, some cases are eg. brain is 'too over active', can't sleep and
don't feel tired the next day. Can't sleep or can't sleep well, but,
feel very tired, the following day. No doubt that, insomnia is linked to
the proper functioning of the liver, but, you must also let me know the
'act' or 'modus operandi'of your insomnia.
Why is the liver being hurt?
In our day-to-day running of the body system, the food we take eg. too
chlorinated drinking water, too much protein stuffs eg. on a plate of
food, 70% to 80% of protein and 20% to 30% of carbohydrate is actually
an 'off-balance' diet for elderly person, those mild toxic derived from
chemically induced drugs, such as 'panadol', very small amount of
pesticide residual from those veggies, the liqour you consummed, all,
contribute to the malfunctioning of the liver.
Since, your liver has been taken care and it takes about 30 mins for you
to sleep, I believe that, yours, is a small problem. So, what you need
to do is, just by pressing(thru finger pressing) the area for 3 to 5
mins, just below the thumb's nail, on both thumb. If, correctly pressed,
you should fall asleep, within 5 mins.
Of course, for those serious cases of insomnia, additional methods need
to apply, but, for your case Paul, the mentioned accupressuring should
solve your problem (on faster sleeping). If, you are not so satisfied in
just sleep alone (you mentioned that, if, you don't have a good sleep,
the next day, you feel 'wrecked'), I could 'teach' you the next method
of having a 'complete sleep', where, the next morning, you feel 'fresh'.
