Question:
I'm very newly pregnant (5 weeks) and have horrible insomnia. Has
anyone else had this problem and is there anything that I can do for
it?
Answer:
Yup, I had it too, early on. Sorry, but the only cure I found was time
-- it went away eventually (and now has returned).
Yup, I had it too at that stage. It did go away though, and has now
returned at 27 wks..........
I think that it's best not to get hung up on it, you will sleep eventually.
Now when I REALLY can't get back to sleep I just get up, have a wander
around, glass of milk, or read one of my numerous pregnancy/baby books
I had insomnia in both my first and third trimesters, and now that I'm pregnant
again I have it again. I've heard it's pretty common. My doctor suggested a
cup of chamomile or linden tea before bed (go the the health food store to get
the real stuff, none of that Celestial Seasons mixture). I hope it helps -- I
certainly can commiserate with you!
I had insomnia for about two weeks (I'm eight weeks along now) and now I
can't sleep enough. It will go away. However, it was making me crazy when it
was happening since I never have problems sleeping. Try not to worry. Use it
as a time to do some of your reading (get an itty bitty book light).
We were on vacation when the pg insomnia started. It lasted for about 2 weeks
from about week 4-6. Now I don't have insomnia, but I often wake up at the
same time each nite for about an hour.
With the first pg, it went away and then came back sometime in the 3rd
trimester. I often woke up at the same time (3 a.m.) almost every nite. After
DS came, that was always the time he woke up to nurse!
