fibromyalgia, sleep apnea & cpap ?

Question:
has anyone here found that successful cpap use improved the symptoms of their fibromyalgia? considering that some of the research claims that the deprivation of deep sleep causes fms...should I be optimistic????

Answer:
I was on CPAP for over a year and found that it helped tremendously. I slept so much better and felt better generally. I highly recommend it!

I'm off of it now, but not because of how it worked. I hope to go back on it soon.

I believe that this really might help. I did the study and got the machine. My problem is that I have post-herpetic neuralgia on the entire rear half of my head. Could never find a mask situation that did not irritate it.

Well I could breathe well and not walk in the morning or I could keep walking. The nerve problem on the back of my head instigates the whole right side of the body.

I am not a doctor, but..... I have read about a protocol for post shingles and shingles treament which is similar to herpes which is what I think you're describing on the back of your head?

The treatment is a vitamin protocol used in Europe and I have used it successfully on three occasions for shingles.

Take 1000 mg of lysine every day. Take a 1 cc(I hope that's right but it's a 1 measurment on the syringe) of B-12 every day for 2 weeks or so. Also take up to 6000 mg of vitamin C and 50 mg of zinc every day. There is also a chinese herbal formula that helps with this problem but the study refers specifically to the B-12, Vit. C and Zinc.

None of these things are toxic in these doses and I have never heard of side effects. The other option is to try combining this with a good acupuncturist and they sometimes have good results with these kinds of pains if I understand what your problem is correctly.
