Question:
I was shocked to find how good a book Insomnia is after reading so many
bad amateur reviews on it. It is one of his best and is highly
insightful!!!!!
Answer:
Gotta agree with ya there, Hoolio. I thought I was the only one
around who loved the book. May I congratulate you on your
superb taste and obviously superior intellect? (And I'm sure you're
good-looking, too.) We Insomniacs have to stick together.
Yep, have to agree with both of you. I thoroughly enjoyed Insomnia. It was
well written and intertaining. While it isn't my top choice of his
(Jerusalem's Lot from Night Shift takes that one, as I'm a Lovecraft fan
too), I really enjoyed it as well.
Me too - liked it , and suffer from occasional bouts of insomnia. Now that
I have a computer I can at least go on the net at 3:00 am instead of watching
all those infomercials on the tube. I used to read when I couldn't sleep
but found that it only wound me up more. I am probably one of the few people
here who has not read any of the DT series (I know - shame on me). I did get
the Gunslinger on audio tape many years ago but just can't seem to
concentrate on audio books. Anyway, after ignoring all the threads on DT, I
decided I would try the tapes again, pulled the box out of my bookcase and
find I am missing tape 1. Arggggg!!! Now I am really ticked.
Insomnia is one of my favourite SK books. It's nice to see
an author admitting that older people can have romance
and adventure in their lives.
