Question:
I learned the hard way they don't mix. Don't drink to put yourself to
sleep. It makes it harder to sleep. Much harder. It even gives you the
restless leg thing. I was drinking only at night before I went to bed.
I quit that and things got better so fast I can't believe it. I didn't
come across that much in research about insomnia. I was drinking about
6oz. of Rum a night. I'm not a drinker,
don't even keep any beer here. So I'm happy I don't have to drink to
sleep. I'm sure many people think it helps as I did. Many know already
what I'm saying. Just thought I would pass it along.
Answer:
This is true. Alcohol causes or worsens several forms of sleep
disorder. It's pretty well documented if you google "alcohol and
sleep." I'd pass out almost nightly, awaken around 2 and have to
watch an hour or two of t.v. before falling back asleep.
