vitamins for pain

Question:
My mommy left today to go back to Memphis. She left me some vitamins, I'm not sure how they work, I haven't taken them yet. While she was here, we discussed my endo, and what all it causes.(I had to explain why I had missed so many classes). My mom has Fibroid Malagia (sp?) She says she can sympathize with the chronic fatigue and frequent pain (I am lucky not to have it everyday, just burst of sharp stabbing pains off and on now and then), except for my lower back, it hurts all the time. She said she has used several things for pain, antidepressants, painkillers, etc, then someone got her these vitamins that she has been taking. She said that it has taken her pain away. She said that it took about six weeks for them to work, but since then, the only time that she really needs to use anything for pain is on days when she "really overdoes it" (like her mowing my 1 acre yard with a pushmower, I felt so bad, but she insisted, I could tell she hurt after she did it, but she didn't want me to pay someone to do it at least this week, just had lap). She left some with me to try. She is such a believer than she now sells these particular vitamins. It is hard to convince my mom of anything, so I know that she believes in these. One is a "mega antioxidant" that you take you take 3 times a day, the other is "chelated mineral" that you take once in the morning, two at night before bed,(they are supposed to help you sleep and it's suppose to help with fatigue)). She says that they have really helped her. These vitamins are by a particular vitamin company. I don't know if I should use the name, I don't want you all to think I'm trying to sell them for my mom! :) But I do have one question about the antioxidants, if anyone can help me. I smoke, (yes I know it's a bad nasty habit and I want to quit, but here lately it's helped me keep my sanity), my mom is worried about the effects of me taking antioxidants while smoking. Does anyone know if it had adverse effects or anything like that? Also, if anyone would like to know any more info about the vitamins, just email me and I'll be glad to give you more info. I am going to be taking them, unless I find out I shouldn't (but they are vitamins I don't see the harm) so I will keep you posted on how they are working.

Answer:
I have only been taking the vitamins for a few days, and I can tell a difference. My lower back had started hurting again, and it's not as bad, and I'm also sleeping better (I'm an insomniac). The vitamins are Mega Antioxidants which you take 3 times a day spaced evenly throughout the day, and chelated minerals which you take 1 in the morning and 2 at night before bed. I have gotten several responses about this, and most of what I've been told, it won't advertantly affect us because we smoke. I'm sure that you could probably find the same vitamins by another company, but these are USANA vitamins, their website is www.USANA.com
