Question:
This appears to be the opinion of my doctor. "All of these symptoms can be
caused by depression." He has however offered to refer me to a
rheumatologist. As someone who has no experience seeking treatment CFS
symptoms, I would appreciate any advice or comments
Answer:
If depression were the cause of all our symptoms, then they should resolve by putting us on antidepressants.
That alone is "proof" that CFS exists. Most people with depression can be treated and get better with antidepressants.
But when you treat people with CFS with antidepressants, most don't get better.
That's because they do not have primary depression.
Do people with primary depression get swollen lymph nodes, crimson cresents in their throat, run a low grade fever,
and a host of other things that Dr. Cheney noted on a video lecture he made last year?
That lecture is still available for purchase. He has a lot of "evidence" on that video.
The professionally made videotape is $15. Checks should be made out to the CFS/FM Support Group of DFW.
Please write "Cheney video" in the memo area to avoid receiving a Preston or Teitelbaum tape by mistake!
(They are available for $15 also.) Send the check to ....
