Question:
My Dad died on Jan. 30 of this year. I have posted several times and
have received some wonderful messages from this group.
I have been chronically exhausted since my Dad's death. My doctor now
thinks that I have chronic fatigue syndrome. I think this is more a
grief reaction than a disease.
Have others experienced extreme fatigue for many months after a death or
is my doctor perhaps correct in his diagnosis?
Answer:
My son had it for a couple of years after his dad was killed, but he was
just a little boy at the time. The doctor said it was allergies making
him so tired but I think it was the grief and the depression it can
bring. I hope you get to the bottom of your problems and I'm very sorry
you are having them. The extreme tiredness did finally pass. This was
years before I knew about the herb St. John's Wort or I might have tried
giving that to him to see if it helped stop the tiredness. I hope you
feel better soon. The chronic fatigue is so hard to deal with.
